Earth to Mitch Kupchak
By bunch, HOOPLOG
So the 2005 NBA Draft unfolds EXACTLY the way the Lakers should have dreamt, down there in their comfy 10 spot. Gerald Green, who they rumored to be trying to trade up for fell to them at 10, as did Danny Granger and Fran Vazquez--both lanky, athletic, new-school NBA bodies ready to step in. And what did the Lakers, with newly-rehired Phil Jackson, who has never been known to love young players, do?
They drafted the YOUNGEST player ever picked in the NBA Draft.
A 7-footer who's only 17 (turns 18 in October) and already weighs 300 pounds.
Because, you know, that's the smart move.
Please, Mitch, Phil, Dr. Buss & Co....PROVE ME WRONG. I sincerely hope I'm wrong here. But WHAT THE HELL WE'RE YOU THINKING?
